Many European explorers liked these dance forms and they disseminated these dance forms in various parts of the world. Early European settlers of 16th century like Hernando Cortes when started to colonize with the South American regions absorbed various local dance traditions in the local culture. The word absorption will be used because Catholic settlers combined with the native culture. The Catholic dance stories and rituals started to add in the Latin dance form because of the societal influences of that time. Dances from the Aztec influenced the settlers because they were structured and various dancers were incorporated in those dance forms in the same time.

Latin American culture when combined with the African drums gave a new rhythm and people were attracted towards this combination. Combination is always attractive and liked by the people; this is the reason why various Latin forms never hesitate from the new adoptions (Pietrobruno and Sheenagh, 2006).
