The case study of IBM is used in this paper that provides with the background on the culture and diversity across IBM and its relative impact on the identity of the organization. Therefore, the books, journal articles and reports published in the past 5 years will be used to draw on the latest, credible and reliable information. The discussion of challenges type and the underlying reasons behind the challenges will be highlighted within this paper. Furthermore, the model of national culture developed by Trompernaars will be utilized across the paper to conduct an analysis of the IBM’s culture from the model’s perspective.
It is to consider that both the involved organization of this case IBM and Lenovo have realized that achievement of the cultural diversity is essential in order to improve the organizational identity and to seamlessly operate across the culturally diverse markets in future.
The benefits of cultural diversity can be achieved by the organization in future through linking the goals of cultural diversity to the goals of business. This will allow leveraging the perspectives and experience of the culturally diverse employees to identify the opportunities where the other members of organizations are not able to view it. Therefore, the model of employee partnership will be effective in development of the harmonious and high performance environment.
