This perspective views CSR as privatization of the governance and the authority lies with the corporate with little or no involvement and influence of other elements of civil society. The steps taken by as per the CSR initiative are either focus of one organization or a collective approach which includes several organizations (Boeger, Dr. Murray & Villiers, 2008).
According to the various studies that have been conducted highlight that various initiatives have been taken by the companies across the world to get engaged in CSR activities that not only have benefitted the society due to the steps taken by the companies but has also benefitted with the companies in reducing costs, reduce environmental impact of operations, income distribution, developing standard market practices and shaping consumer identities (Whetten, Rands and Godfrey, 2002). The report of Talbot (2004) the CSR activities has even resulted in gaining market power in the value chain as tremendous benefits have been achieved by the developing nations. Further the privatization of certain industries which are associated with public sector such as water and energy signify transfer of governance functioning to corporate sector (Levy & Newell, 2006). The contribution of CSR activities by organizations in such sectors have resulted in better services in terms of quality, access and reliability. Thus privatization of governance can also be seen in the substantial corporate influence over more formal global regimes
