Culture Shock is referred to as the individual disorientation felt by a person when they experience an unfamiliar environment because of immigration or any kind of visit, personal or professional, to a new nation(McIntyre, 2010).
Ahmad Fadam briefed his experience on his visit to the United States of America for his fellowship at the North Carolina University. As he states, he was going through a culture shock and he was warned about it several times. According to him, this was due to all of the new things and to learn about a number of new things laid stress due to which he was experiencing cultural shock.
Based on this, it can be stated that being in a different nation makes one being in acquaintance with the new physical environment, habits, traditions, and culture. Majority of the time, it is extremely different in comparison with what they had been experiencing in their entire life time.This results in the move between the usual social habitats. It had been a different experience for him and he was also amazed to see how differently he was acting and how different he felt in the new nation (Bennett, 2001). He started to feel as if he had been assigned for representing it, for showing the good reputation of his own culture. One starts placing explanation if criticized for their own cultural background. At the same point of time, one has to be living with the point that this can be considered as a completely different civilization in comparison with their own.
