This paper discusses the photographer Jill Greenberg in relation to the ethicality and effectiveness of using the portrait photography in controversial manner (Wacadlo et al, 2007). The paper will highlight the photographical work undertaken by the photographer along with her actions and the criticism of the work. An argument will be provided taking a stance on the photographer. There were more criticism on this act of Greenberg as several communications were made to the agencies to prevent hiring of Jill Greenberg as a photographer by various artists within the domain along with the general public. The credibility of the media was questioned in the associated cycle of election as the biasness was shown openly as per the criticisms. There was a rising concern that the media itself is in the favor of Obama for the election candidacy. Moreover, the issue lies within the misuse of photograph by Greenberg that is highly unethical. The scenario would have been entirely different if the client agreed to the action of photographer.
However, the subject of the image McCain had no knowledge of the amendments that were made by Jill Greenberg. It is clear that the photographer did not perform her role in effective manner to showcase the photo subject in the best possible manner but the image was changed electronically by Greenberg in such a way that the public perception of politician being deteriorated is represented in even worse conditions that cannot occur naturally. This is to conclude that the use of portrait photography in this manner was not effective as it received bad criticism along with damage to the reputation of the photographer. Moreover, the actions of Greenberg were highly unethical in the domain of photography (Wacadlo et al, 2007). Even upon the agreement of the parents in End Times series, the actions and the photography itself is evident to be unethical. Another action of Greenberg related to picture of John McCain is equally unethical and indicates her to be extremely unprofessional.
