Fisheries are getting negatively influenced by the measures and methods local inhabitants of both the countries. Agreements conducted by contractors about catching the fish are not good for different types of fishes in the sea. Agreement between the government of Canada and United States is willing to take corrective actions in this issue (Halfman, 2007).Many options are provided after conducting the research on different lakes and rivers of both the countries. Based on this investigation recommendations are provided that can help in resolving the issues like pollution and contamination of water. Many options were provided after the investigation and among these options some are listed here. Salt waters that are within Washington are safe in case of the methods that are used for catching the fish in the sea. Common methods like trap nets, purse seines, grill nets etc have no issues and they can be used in the sea. However according to the regulation of Canadian fisheries commercial fishing which involves the use of drift grill nets is prohibited and this practice needs to be applied in Washington.
After close investigation and examination it has been recommended that net crib must not be more than 6 inches when it is used for commercial fishing. Trap net leaders should not increase by 2000 feet in length because it can be dangerous for other creatures of the river.
