Risks and risk management is necessary in both the European and Chinese management of residual veterinary drugs. This is because research indicates that The aim of this research is to critically compare the competition that exists at the management level in the European and Chinese market for veterinary public health (Bai et al, 2007). At the public level there is awareness on how the residual drugs present in animal products would affect humans. Since the residue problem has increased, there are many Governmental agencies that do work on the problem. Regulatory agencies work on many issues to handle this problem and the control is a continuing issues till now (Pulce et al, 1991; Toldra & Reig, 2006). However, the fact remains that the management cannot be handled by government agencies alone. The management responsibility would hence need to have contributions from different stakeholder groups such as the breeders, the product producers, veterinarians, academicians and more. A risks assessment and controls measure needs to include all stakeholder groups. Risk assessment, risks management and risks communication needs to be done. Of this the risks assessment is done scientifically. The health effects of hazardous materials are studied in risks assessment. The results gathered by means of the scientific risks assessment will help in informing different stakeholder groups on the adversities (Reig & Toldra, 2008). The purpose of risk assessment is to inform risk management. Risk management must be supported by a disciplined risks assessment. Any flaws in management would be because of the risk assessment being improper. In risk management the issue is being handled at many levels, such as the risks of improper compliance, economic impacts and more. Once risks assessment and risks management are done, risks communication would be planned in order to inform people and make the issue handling more efficient. Primarily a risks assessment must be done but the assessment must be done by establishing what the actual residual levels are in the animal based products. Different nations are seen to have different limits on this. The maximum residual level and the tolerance levels are both considered and these would be established based on the levels of consumption, usage patterns, chronic usage levels and more.
