Again it can be said that a little of Taylor theory is utilised but not in its pure shape.
This theory made a combination of shifting the assembly line and Taylors approach of piece rate system and division of labour. By Fordism, the jobs become automatic or are re-organised into skilled/ unskilled or semiskilled jobs. Nowadays, the workers have become wiser and individuals have started to assess themselves in a better way. Now the work is turning to be “de-skilled” because employments are getting segregated and labourers’ tasks are becoming easier. This way, the people turn out to be better than machines caught in the hierarchy. The financial reports are not suitable for them and as for Taylor’s scientific management it was observed that the employees worked only for monetary rewards (Renault, 2007). However, in the current businesses, it has been seen that anybody can be successful by factors beyond cash and control. This additional factor raises the social prosperity and growth of the person. Everyone has to struggle for getting promotion and cannot just act like a machine.

In conclusion, it can be observed that Scientific Management is still greatly a component of any business in the 21st Century. Its strengths in making segregation among management tasks and work tasks have been applied extensively at every level and in every industry. Besides, its strengths in making firms proficient by substitute of “rules of thumb” with scientific statement have assured its extensive appliance. Modern firms give preference to social factors like the worker initiative, trustworthiness and compliance along competence.
In modern firms, the Scientific Management theory is not noticeable in its pure shape, but factors of it are highly important that they have turned out to be intensely established in all contemporary firms with different combinations of theories (Bluedorn & Taylor, 2005). These are the key rationales for which management has engaged latest aspect in the 21st Century.
