Side by side, I would highly focus upon rewards, both intrinsic as well as extrinsic. Although, the yearly bonuses would be provided to the staff, I would focus more upon the intrinsic rewards as they are a much bigger motivator. I would be announcing employee of the month every month and would provide him with a batch and put his picture with a caption on the reception.

I think that intrinsically motivating the employees would do a much better job than extrinsic motivation although even that is important to a certain limit. Apart from that, I would also build work teams and assign them work and measure their effectiveness through their performance (Srivastva, 1977). I would assign different jobs to different teams in order to gain more productivity.

Similarly, I would also make sure that every now and then, I rotate the job of the employees to make sure that they learn a variety of skills. This would also help them in understanding the work contribution of different employees and would result in a much better performance. Leading the employees would be my core purpose in the hotel (Association of California School Administrators, 2000).
However, I would also focus upon the fact that all the rewards and promotions would be highly based upon merit and that there would be no favouritism (Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, 1996). I would also listen to the complaints of my employees and make sure that they are satisfied and able to perform the tasks that have been assigned to them on the daily basis.
