I am a BBA Co-op student, working at athletics, recreation & wellness department at The University of New Brunswick from September to December in 2014. I am sending this proposal to present the topic of my final report for my current Co-op placement. For my Co-op placement at The University of New Brunswick, the title of my position is to assist the athletics, recreation & wellness department on two ongoing department projects. The first project is planning, development and coordination of a needs assessment using focus groups of Campus Recreation and Wellness, and the second one is creating a current, complete data base profile of Athletic Alumni. Currently, they are many databases, files and documents which hold this information. It is my responsibility to work independently and with other internal and external stakeholders to create a needs assessment report for projects.

Executive Summary

This report is based on a survey named “on campus recreation and wellness program”. It is going to be reported to the Director of Athletics and the Data Mining Coordinator will be engaged in two projects. 1- Planning, development and coordination of a needs assessment using focus groups of Campus Recreation and Wellness. 2- Creating a current, complete data base profile of Athletic Alumni. I have worked independently and with internal and external stakeholders to create needs assessment report based on the focus group work.

Introduction

The focus of this research includes the department of Saint John Campus. This department deals with wellness and recreation of the athletes.

Background of the Study

It is the study of wellness and recreation of athletes in the campus. University of Brunswick is playing a great role for recreational activities along with the entertainment facilities at the Campus through various clubs for Varsity & sports. Various established teams exist in these clubs and most commonly in the campuses. These include the men & women. These teams compete fiercely in sports like volley ball swimming & others. There are various strategies for the encouragement of the players. One of this includes scholarships for the students who are god at sports & academia.
