In order to analyse whether images portray reality or just betray the value of the culture in which they are created, an image from the Azure- Youth Culture’s poster would be analysed. With the help of this image a clear idea would be generated regarding Howell’s statement (Mirzoeff, 2002). The photographer has displayed reality through his photographs. His models are teenagers and he focuses on the fashion of the youth.
Since with time different trends are evolving, the fashion photography has also changed a lot. The image being analysed is of a men’s fashion clothing store called Azure- Youth Culture. In this image, all the models are wearing black clothes ranging from black jeans, pants, blazers, long coats, jackets and shirts to scarfs and shorts. It shows that the store offers all variety of men’s clothing. This variety also includes hoodies which are becoming an important part of the youth’s wardrobe.
Apart from that, it can be seen that almost all of the bare skin of the models is painted black. It can clearly be seen that all the faces of the models are covered with paint and so they cannot be seen. This has provided the image with a new kind of look which is quite rare in other pictures (Mirzoeff, 2002).
It is the job of a good photographer to take and edit the photos in such a manner that the viewer focus on the right part of the image (). The details of a photograph or an image are highly important as it helps the viewer in developing a perspective of the photo and the brand itself as well and so every photographer must focus on the image details.
