The above chart shows the disparity in local Canadians and immigrant employment that is almost stable for all education degrees. This particular disparity is often a social issue and must be addressed rigorously. Why is there a disparity and an increase in local students’ employment compared to the immigrants with equal talent? This question has multiple research reasons and cannot be answered in few data. Somewhere it seems that the root of this evil lies in the cultural differences and the government policies of job creation for the local population before anything is offered to outsiders. Cultural differences comes from ancient religious beliefs in which old customs are still practiced. The eternal thought that the local citizens are to be preferred in all areas of employment first compared to immigrants is much more powerful thought and belief and still haunts the backyard of most recruiters and organisations. In another contradiction, this disparity can be attributed to the need based usage of employment of multinational organisations. This could also be a reason why the corporate culture is leaning more towards giving preference to local candidates and not to immigrants, especially when the recovery period from the recession requires much more talented candidates for supporting the organisations and it is no way a theory which says that a Canadian employee is much more effective and efficient in their work compared to immigrants.
From a sociological perspective, it is seen that this is one kind of a discrimination which is happening to the immigrants who are equally or in some cases more skilled than the locals. The event when observed through a human rights perspective, it is seen that the discrimination is prominent and is hidden behind government policies of creation of jobs for all citizens of the country. It is noticed that youth unemployment rates are high after the global financial crisis with significant differences within the continent (Quintini, et al., 2007) and among other regions where it rose to a substantial level (Sparreboom, 2012).
