The evolution of Present-age Chinese literature has taken place since the People’s Republic of China had been established in 1949. Although it has been preserving the world’s oldest cultural values, it has also undergone massive institutional changes since the communist regime has emerged in 1949. Consequent to this Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), there was a logjam that lasted for more than 10 years. During the Cultural Revolution, a campaign was led by Jiang Qing against the bourgeois and the feudal class (Chan, 1995). It has resulted in a major upheaval in the Chinese society. Since then we have experienced a series of events that has helped in deepening the contents and literary forms. Literature has prospered and its prosperity reflects the development of society, culture, ethnicity, language and many others.
Apart from literature and culture, an association of music and dance has also been observed in the early periods. Early Chinese music and poetry has its roots in the Book of Songs and was influenced by Qu Yuan. Even the birth of eastern martial arts happened in China as it is called Kung Fu which is practiced across the globe. Looking at the fashion history of China, different fashion trends are followed by different classes of society. One of the traditional clothing designs that is still worn is referred to as Hanfu.
