In the past, tourism has been considered as a business activity related to accommodation, transportation, entertainment and hospitality sector that attract tourists or visitors to enjoy their holidays. However, today it has been completely changed as the global reach of the business and industry has emerged. Tourists look for foreign destination for their holidays with family. In addition, increasing global marketplace has led to business meetings, events, frequent visits of employees or clients to different geographical areas. This trend has created significant increase in the demand of tourism business, hotels, and event organizers to manage need of tourists, visitors or business people.
This article is based on a case of the City of Pietarsaari in Finland. Methodology adopted in this study is based on qualitative aprroach. Using case study as a method to find out information of tourism event , this study has attempted to attain its objectives. Moreover, structured interview has also supported to find out feedback and view point of visitors on their understanidng how improtat tourism event is for them.
In this work, Omoregie Etiosa (2012) has signficnatly presented the importance of tourism in the development of an economy. It is furether detailed how communication and relatios can be build between visitors or target audiences coming from different geogrpahcial locations. This article is useful for the study as it provides adequate inforamtion that can be used to present understanding on key components of tourism industry, how an event can be planned and how it supports to host country. Most important significance of using this article is to demonstrate understading on tourism events and methods that can be used to plan an event.
