The formation of recent Merri Creek has been through the lava surface. It flows in southern direction for a few kilometers & joins the Yarra River in Fairfield near Dights Falls & subsequently flows into Port Philip Bay. The surrounding area is exposed to high volcanic activity & has been a part of human civilization in southern parts of Victoria, Australia.
